		Old Rip Van Winkle Handmade 10 Year Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey is produced by the Sazerac Company at its Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort, Kentucky. It is sold in 750ml glass bottles. The alcohol by volume is 53.50%. It is 107-proof. The arrangement for production of Old Rip Van Winkle at the Buffalo Trace Distillery was the result of a joint venture arrangement with the Van Winkle family that was established in June 2002. The distillery only releases around 7,000 cases a year, which is approximately 84,000 bottles. The suggested retail for Old Rip Van Winkle 10 Year Bourbon is $69.99, but people who find a bottle end up paying much more. On-line ad prices average around $1,499.00. It is sometimes confused with its sister brand, Pappy Van Winkle's Family Reserve, and misleadingly so, "Pappy" is much more expensive.
